Your environment, lifestyle, children, how active you are and even your age play an important role in your choice of a breed.
Whichever breed you choose, you must have adequate room to house and exercise your dog. Long-coated breeds require lots of time to care for the coat and some breeds require the services of a professional groomer. All breeds need some degree of training.
